Artisan craft beers from Catalonia Spain.
After working in Germany and Denmark, two beer loving chemists came together to create the finest “live” unpasteurized craft beers they could. Using their love and passion for beer, applied knowledge of chemistry and beer crafting along with the world’s finest ingredients, Teresa Galvan and Arnau Rovera of Espiga make incredibly good and original beers, each one with its own character. They have established themselves in Spain as a force of porter, a lager lord and a master of malt! Espiga should have a crown on their beer’s head.

Blonde Ale

Wow! What a blonde! This is like no other, with big citrus fruits and hops without the bitterness of an IPA. By far the best Blonde Ale we've tasted in a bottle.

This is pale and golden in color, translucent, with a lingering white head. Its intense, clear, fruity aroma is particularly striking for its notes of citric and sour tropical fruits, hints of white grape together with notes of watermelon. It is fresh on the palate, with undertones of exotic fruits. Integrated carbonation with a slightly bitter farewell, inviting further tasting.

Pairing: Hors d’oeuvres, seafood, fruit salads, pizza, spicy dishes, hamburgers, white fish, olives

Style: Golden Ale, Blonde Ale

Alcohol: 4.5%

Serve in: Pint glass, Shaker or Bordeaux glass

IBU:25 (medium low bitterness)

Tips: Poor into a wide top glass for full aroma affect.

  • Pilsner (Czech Bohemian) Pilsner Malt is a lager-style base malt produced from Czech barley varieties Bojo and Tolar. The Czech-grown grain is processed specifically for "Bohemian" characteristics to impart a full body, golden-blond color, and complex maltiness.

  • Mosaic (America) Rich in mango, lemon, citrus, earthy pine, tropical fruit, herbal and stone fruit notes. Mosaic combines a very complex hop aroma.
  • Citra (America) Specific aroma descriptors include grapefruit, orange, lemon, melon, apricot and peach.
  • Cascade (America) Unique floral, spice, and citrus qualities, with the citrus elements often running toward a strong grapefruit character. Moderate bitterness.

Incredible blond, citrus nose like a sculpin but better!
