The story of Viñedos Real Rubio began over one hundred years ago at the hands of the great grandparents of the current wine makers, who began grape growing in plots around Monte Yerga in the region of Rioja. Their vineyards are home to most of the official varieties of the Rioja Designation of Origin: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Viura, Verdejo in addition, they have vines over 60 years old alongside other younger ones less than a decade old. For Real Rubio, wine and the vineyards constitute a way of understanding life which goes way beyond the mere act of growing and making wines, something they have tried to capture in the winery.

Varietal: 100% Garnacha

Winemaking Notes: Manually de-stemmed at harvest and fermented in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures making a cold maceration before fermentation. The pink must is bled at the right moment to achieve both the color and the desired aromas. Controlled fermentation between 13ºC and 16ºC to preserve fruit aromas.

Tasting Notes: Brilliant pale pink on soft salmon backgrounds. Intense aromas of floral and red fruits such as strawberries, raspberries and currants. The palate is smooth and elegant with an enveloping acidity and excellent minerality. 

Pairing Suggestions: Perfect accompaniment to appetizers like sausage or hard cheeses. Also great with pasta dishes, blue fish and stews.
