The badabadoc or "clueless" sloth seems to just enjoy life and all it brings. Not a care goes into things outside of his control. Eating, drinking, sleeping and loving. Not an ounce of thought goes into the jungle around him and all the while with a seemingly permanent smile.

Sumoll is in a category all its own. This grape is nearly black in skin color and has been used for wine long enough to have Roman heritage. Young wine from the Sumoll grape has a slight roughness that disappears with aging. Its production is low, and treatment for achieving quality wines requires high skills in wine production. This is a rare grape with less than one hundred hectares planted (247 acres). But for those looking for a sip of history and a fantastic pairing with wild game, this is it!

Winemaking Notes: Organic farming in a Mediterranean climate, the grapes are manually harvested in 25 lb. boxes, then selected by hand and gently led to a short 17 day fermentation. Aged for 9 months in French/American oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: Deep purple with abundant tears. Intense aromas of candied fruits like fig and quince with hints of hazelnut shells. Fresh notes of lavender, cinnamon and nutmeg. Structures, earthy tannins with robust acidity and a long finish.

Pairing Suggestions: Ideal for game, beef and other meats, strong cheeses and intense dishes.
