2013 Ruben Ramos Crianza
Ruben Ramos Crianza 2013
100% Tempranillo Grapes from the vines of the winery's own family estate.
The poor soil and harsh Spanish weather conditions combined with the passionate artisan work that goes into this wine result in a great example of why I love the Duero. I am very fortunate in meeting this family, visiting their vineyards and winery, and watching them pour their hearts into making this wine. Ruben grew up among these vines. As a child he would go exploring, sometimes climbing up to the Penafiel Castle and looking down at the Duero valley and at what would eventually be his livelihood. Standing amongst these very vines, I had the pleasure of drinking this vintage with this artisan and his beautiful family. I'm sure Ruben Jr. will be climbing up to the castle himself soon.
