M Luz got it's name from the winery’s owner Mari Luz. Like Mari this wine is pleasant yet complex and will leave a lasting impression on you. The blend of noble and local varietals gives this wine amazing character. It is always as with other products from Spain a direct reflection of the true artisan craftsmanship that goes into the wine.

The story of Viñedos Real Rubio began over one hundred years ago at the hands of the great grandparents of the current wine makers, who began grape growing in plots around Monte Yerga in the region of Rioja. Their vineyards are home to most of the official varieties of the Rioja Designation of Origin: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano, Viura, Verdejo in addition, they have vines over 60 years old alongside other younger ones less than a decade old. For Real Rubio, wine and the vineyards constitute a way of understanding life which goes way beyond the mere act of growing and making wines, something they have tried to capture in the winery.

Winemaking Notes: Harvested at the beginning of September, the grapes are picked in the cool of the morning and taken straight to vats for cold maceration before fermentation. Blended after 48 hours, with the temperature controlled carefully from maceration right through until the end of alcoholic fermentation.

Tasting Notes: Brilliant sheen. Gold color with bright glints at the edge. Fresh, clean aroma on the nose with soft, yet intense, fragrances, mingling the fruit and flower aromas. Long and intense. On the palate, crisp acidity with a soft mineral character. Long, complex and persistent finish.

Pairing Suggestions: Serve chilled. Ideal wine to accompany white fish dishes, shellfish, blue fish, smoked fish and cold starters.
